TDS was not an issue for most of these water purifiers. Only the Livpure Victor had input above 2000 ppm which is 15% more than the average. BePURE 4G pH was the best in TDS handling with 3000 ppm.
Livpure Victor struggled with only 1000 ppm capacity which is 50% less than most others. Havells Gracia had the highest flow rate at 25 L/hr.
In all other tests, the water purifiers we selected were almost perfect. Bacterial and viral contamination was not an issue, mineral retention was maintained and even microplastics were removed.
Temperature Control Comparison
In the temperature control test, we test the performance of each purifier in hot and cold water operations. Purifiers that have shorter heating times and can use real cold water are rated higher in our overall testing.
To test this we time how long it takes to heat water to set temperatures and cheque the uniformity of temperature delivery over many uses.
Purifier | Hot Water Temp | Cold Water Temp | Heating Time |
A.O. Smith Z9 | 45°C & 80°C Dual | Not Available | < 3 minutes |
BePURE 4G pH | 80-90°C | 15-20°C | 30 sec – 5 min |
Aquaguard Blaze | 80°C | Not Available | ~1 minute |
Havells Gracia | Hot/Warm/Ambient | Not Available | Not specified |
Livpure Victor | Instant Hot | Not Available | 15-20 minutes |
BePURE Ace | 80-90°C | Not Available | 1 minute |
The majority of purifiers included in this list have hot water capabilities, and only the BePURE 4G pH has real cold water dispensing. But at 15-20 0C this is not really chilled water but mild cooling.
Storage Capacity Comparison
In order to cheque storage capacity, we cheque total volume, cheque tank materials on durability, and cheque on separate compartments. Higher capacities that are stainless steel constructed are more valuable and hygienic.
Purifier | Total Capacity | Normal Tank | Hot Tank | Cold Tank | Tank Material |
A.O. Smith Z9 | 10 L | 9.2 L | 0.8 L SS | N/A | Food Grade ABS + SS |
BePURE 4G pH | 9 L | 7 L | 1 L SS | 1 L | Food Grade + SS |

Havells Gracia | 6.5 L | Combined | Combined | N/A | SS + Food Grade |
Livpure Victor | 6 L | Combined | Combined | N/A | Plastic |
BePURE Ace | 9 L | 8 L | 1 L SS | N/A | Food Grade + SS |
Average | 7.6 L | 7.3 L | 0.8 L | N/A | Mixed |
A.O. Smith Z9 had the highest total capacity of 10 litres and the Aquaguard Blaze had the lowest capacity of 5.6 litres. Hot water tanks were 0.8 litres on average and were made of stainless steel to ensure higher heat retention.
To recap it all, the Aquaguard Blaze has two stainless steel tanks, one with hot and the other with ambient water, which is much more durable despite having a lower capacity.
Power Consumption Comparison
To measure power use, we keep track of electricity use in purification, heating, and standby. A power metre records the data of each mode.
Purifier | Ambient Power | Base Power | Hot Power | Cold Power | Max Power | Energy Mode |
A.O. Smith Z9 | 40W | 60W | Included | N/A | 60W | Yes |
BePURE 4G pH | 40W | 60W | 500W | 500W | 560W | No |
