Premium Water Purifiers (₹18,000 – 20,000)
Let’s start off with the most expensive and arguably best water purifiers under ₹20,000.
AO Smith Z2+

Why It’s Best
The AO Smith Z2+ is a premium under-sink water purifier that is impressive across all fronts. It packs patented Side Stream RO Membrane technology that ensures complete purification without bypass. In addition, it houses excellent digital monitoring abilities, despite lacking UV disinfection technology.
Performance was exceptional for the Z2+, it achieved ≥95% TDS reduction across all water types, had no issues with high hardness levels, and maintained essential minerals through MIN-TECH. That said, it had lower water recovery at 30%, and the absence of UV meant no additional bacterial protection.
While the RO is expensive, the Z2+ is feature-packed and built with professional-grade components. It has a smart digital display, auto-flush mechanism, and space-saving design that make it a pleasure to use. If you’re comfortable with the price tag, the AO Smith Z2+ is the top under-sink pick.
Type: RO Purifier
Storage (Tank): 5 L effective
TDS Range: Up to 2000 ppm
Water Recovery: 30%
The AO Smith Z2+ is built with the latest RO technology and professional-grade components a water purifier can have. The under-counter installation, digital display, and patented SSM technology are all designed to be easy to use, so easy you barely have to think about it.
The SSM technology has automatic features to prevent impurity bypass. The MIN-TECH mineralizer has essential mineral retention capabilities. The SCM-TECH has silver-activated post carbon filtration. Overall, the purifier is built to be incredibly reliable.
In testing, it had fantastic TDS reduction performance. It removed ≥95% of dissolved solids across all water types, handled input TDS up to 2000 ppm without issues, and had excellent mineral retention through MIN-TECH. However, water recovery wasn’t perfect and only 30% of input water became drinking water.
Installation was seamless for the Z2+ under the counter, but had some challenges with space constraints. It purified our test water consistently in all conditions, never compromising on quality and fully maintaining output standards. But when tested against efficiency metrics, the purifier prioritized purity over water savings completely. What really sets this purifier apart from the others is the reliability packed inside. If price isn’t an issue then the AO Smith Z2+ is a fantastic pick.

NATIVE By Urban Company M2

Why It’s Best
The NATIVE M2 is the newest smart water purifier from Urban Company. It comes with comprehensive IoT features and advanced monitoring capabilities for the user. In addition, the 10-stage purification process gives the purifier excellent contaminant removal abilities.

We saw this in action in our purification tests. It reduced TDS from 450-550 ppm to 56-65 ppm consistently, had excellent 50% water recovery, and delivered alkaline water with copper infusion. Furthermore, the smart app monitoring was seamless. However, the M2 required wall mounting exclusively, but handled varying water pressures effectively.
It’s clear to see the M2 is a high-tech device and that comes with a premium asking price. Nevertheless, it’s an incredibly advanced purifier with a number of cutting-edge smart features.
Type: RO+UV+Alkaline
Storage (Tank): 8 L
TDS Range: Up to 2500 ppm
Water Recovery: 50%
Being released in the later part of 2023, the NATIVE M2 comes packed with the newest features, latest tech, and it looks the part. The whole design is sleek, modern, and high-quality, including smart IoT connectivity and premium black aesthetics.
In testing, M2 performed well, reduced TDS by 87-90% across all water types. UV killed bacteria well, alkaline enhancement balanced pH well and copper infusion met health standards. PresetMode™ dispensing was hands-free and guide light was visible in dark.

On a broader scale, water recovery was excellent for the M2. It saved 50% of input water without compromising quality in our tests. However, it required consistent power supply and WiFi connectivity for smart features. That said, app functionality could be improved with future software updates.
Despite those connectivity requirements, everything else about the M2 is impressive. The smart app automatically tracks filter health, monitoring TDS levels and water consumption. Additionally, the 2-year zero-cost warranty covers everything, which is an improvement over standard warranties.
In practically all ways, the NATIVE M2 is built to be a high-tech water purifier. It costs a lot, but if you want smart features and excellent recovery then the M2 is a good option.

Pureit Copper 8L

Why It’s Best
The Pureit Copper 8L is a feature-rich purifier with dual dispensing. The advanced copper charge technology, 7-stage purification and large storage makes it versatile. You can choose between copper-infused or regular water.
In testing, it removed 96% of contaminants effectively, killed 99.9% of bacteria through UV and infused copper at optimal levels consistently. But the Pureit lacked alkaline enhancement and water recovery data wasn’t available. Despite no smart connectivity, it performed well, rarely required intervention and maintained consistent output.
It may have some limitations, but the Pureit Copper 8L is still a great daily purifier. For the price, it’s unique copper dispensing.
Type: RO+UV+MF
Storage (Tank): 8 L
TDS Range: Up to 2000 ppm
Water Recovery: 45%
Not as advanced as the premium models, the Pureit Copper 8L still has its unique selling points. As a copper-infusion specialist, it has dual dispensing allowing you to choose between copper-enriched or regular water. And it performed well in bacterial elimination and maintained water quality consistently.
But the Copper 8L provided limited efficiency data and consumed 55-60W power. And the system requires manual tracking despite smartsense indicators. But UV disinfection was perfect and copper levels met health standards consistently.
The Copper 8L has NSF certification but no smart features. No smart connectivity means you need to monitor manually, but 15-day advance alerts help. Beyond that, the purifier worked autonomously, auto shut-off and overflow protection worked well.
All in all, what makes the Pureit Copper 8L great is the copper technology for the price. It may not be the most advanced purifier out there but it’s an entry point to copper-infusion water solution.

Mid-Premium Water Purifiers (₹16,000 to 18,000)
Up next are water purifiers that do almost everything the top models do, but for a little less.
Atomberg Intellon

Why It’s Best
It might not be the flagship, but the Atomberg Intellon packs smart tech and serious performance. IFS automatically selects the best purification method, TasteTune allows mineral customization and the app gives the user full control of the device.
The Intellon’s results were excellent too. Across all water types it processed up to 12,000 liters per filter set, 50% water recovery consistently and alkaline water with balanced minerals. TDS limit was lower at 1,500 ppm but intelligent mode switching between RO and UF+UV was impressive.
This is not a cheap device but not the most expensive one either. What really makes the Intellon a great choice are the intelligent features built into a mid-premium device.
Type: RO+UV+UF+Alkaline
Storage (Tank): 8 L
TDS Range: Up to 1500 ppm
Water Recovery: 50%
Overall the Atomberg Intellon is a great device. The purifier itself is intelligent, has adaptive flow technology that preserves minerals when TDS is safe. The app is also feature packed, can track filter health and water quality automatically.
During testing the Intellon performed well, 1:1 rejection ratio when RO was active and preserved essential minerals in UF+UV mode. AutoCleanse maintained efficiency, VacayMode prevented stagnation during absence and the LED ring interface was intuitive. TasteTune adjusted output TDS between 50-150 ppm based on preference.
Maintenance was minimal for the Intellon as it cleaned itself automatically and had filter life of 12,000 liters. But the lack of dispensing tray was inconvenient as containers had to be held manually. The best part of Intellon is its intelligence. IFS, smart features and 2-year all-inclusive warranty makes it a great combo. If you want an intelligent purifier but don’t want to spend flagship price, the Atomberg Intellon is a great option.

Value Water Purifiers (₹12,000 to ₹15,000)
Now let’s talk about the water purifiers that won’t break the bank but are backed-up by good performance.
Aquaguard Enrich Marvel

Why It’s Best
The Aquaguard Enrich Marvel is still a top value purifier despite its old design. Proven since 2019, the Marvel was designed for comprehensive purification. It has active copper technology, 10 stage purification and high capacity filters. But it lacks some of the latest features we see in newer purifiers like app connectivity, alkaline enhancement or higher water recovery.

Despite the lack of this newer technology, the Marvel is still a good purifier in terms of performance. It removed heavy metals effectively, infused copper consistently and had perfect bacterial elimination through UV. But it struggled with water recovery, saving only 40% of input water.
If you ignore water wastage, the Marvel had good purification results. While premium models cost much more, its current price with copper technology makes it a good value in 2025.
Type: RO+UV+UF
Storage (Tank): 6.2 L
TDS Range: Up to 2000 ppm
Water Recovery: 40%
The Aquaguard Enrich Marvel is a great purifier for mineral enhancement. In testing it infused copper as per BIS standards. Calcium and magnesium levels were optimal and 10 stage process removed all impurities. Marvel struggled with efficiency, recovered only 40% of input water.
Due to its traditional design, it lacks a few newer features. No app connectivity, no alkaline enhancement and no advanced recovery system. But LED indicators provide necessary information and filter change alerts ensure timely maintenance.
Since it lacks smart features, you have to monitor manually and track maintenance schedules. It processes high TDS water well but in most cases Marvel performs well with municipal water. In testing it delivered 20 liters per hour consistently, quality maintained throughout and mineral rich water delivered.
At this price point it’s a great value. If you don’t need smart features and want copper enriched water then this is a good option.

Havells Delite Kop’ere

Why It’s Best
The Havells Delite Kop’ere is a water purifier with UV LED technology. This means continuous tank sterilization reducing bacterial growth. Besides that, the Kop’ere is feature rich. It has stainless steel tank for durability and gives alkaline water with six essential minerals.
Performance was good for the Havells Kop’ere. In our tests it gave 95% TDS reduction, fantastic UV LED sterilization and pH balanced alkaline water. But filter life was lower at 6,000 liters and no smart features. It processes fast at 25 L/hr and maintains quality throughout.
What makes the Havells Kop’ere attractive is the price, stainless steel tank and mineral enhancement. If you don’t need smart features and want alkaline mineral rich water then the Kop’ere is a great value.
Type: RO+UV LED
Storage (Tank): 6.5 L (Stainless Steel)
TDS Range: Up to 2000 ppm
Water Recovery: 50%
While it’s old school in connectivity, the Havells Kop’ere is still a good water purifier, especially for those who want alkaline water. The UV LED sterilization happens continuously which prevents biofilm formation. While this is good, the Kop’ere lacks a few things. It has no app connectivity or advanced smart features.
But the Kop’ere performs well despite that. In our tests it reduced TDS by 95% across all water types. Also it infused six essential minerals successfully but required filter replacement more often. The revitalizer restructured water molecules and alkaline pH remained between 7.5-8.5 throughout.
It lacks smart monitoring but works fine with maintenance. For our testing period the Kop’ere processed water 60% faster than average, was significantly faster at 25 L/hr flow rate. It’s old school but it has its own advantages. If you want alkaline water with UV LED then the Kop’ere is a good one.
